HOW TO PRINT MY DECALS ?
Let’s dive into the exciting world of making nail decals using clear and white waterslide decal paper!
Step 1: Choose the Right Waterslide Decal Paper
The first step is to select the appropriate waterslide decal paper that matches your printer type. If you have an inkjet printer, you’ll need Inkjet Waterslide Paper. Conversely, if you’re using a laser printer, make sure to get Laser Waterslide Decal Paper.
Step 2: Choose Your Nail Decals
Once you have the right paper, it’s time to unleash your creativity and design your nail decals!
For the best results, choose high-resolution with a pixel density of over 300 DPI. Opt for images on either white or transparent backgrounds to ensure they look stunning on your nails. After selecting your images, upload them into the program that you find most user-friendly.
Step 3: Assessing Image Size
Do you think the images are the right size? If they seem too big or too small, feel free to resize them and try again. Use the test paper print as a guide to see if you have sized your images correctly. Once you’re satisfied with the dimensions, proceed to load and print on your waterslide decal paper. Make sure to set your print settings to high quality, using gloss photo paper options. After printing, allow the paper to dry for about three minutes.
Step 4: Sealing Your Images
If you’re using Inkjet Waterslide Decal Paper, it’s essential to seal your images after printing. We recommend Rustoleum 2X Clear for sealing, but any clear acrylic spray paint or sealer will work. If you’re using Laser Waterslide Decal Paper, sealing is optional, although some prefer to seal their decals for added durability.
Step 5: Cutting Out Your Nail Decals
Now it’s time to cut out your nail decals! You can either use scissors for a manual approach or opt for a precision cutting machine like a Silhouette Cameo or a Cricut for more intricate designs.
Step 6: Activating and Applying Decals
To activate the adhesive on the back of your waterslide decals, place them in room temperature water. You can use your fingers or tweezers to handle the decals—tweezers can make it easier to manage smaller designs. Once the adhesive is activated, the decal will slide easily off its backing; this indicates it’s ready for application. Use tweezers to lift the decal from the backing and position it onto your nail. We recommend using a paper towel to gently press down on the decal once it’s in place. Allow it to dry while you continue with the rest of your nails. After all decals are applied and completely dry, finish with another layer of clear top coat over each decal.
Step 7: Easy Removal
When you’re ready for a change, removing the waterslide decals and nail polish is simple with nail polish remover. Enjoy experimenting with new designs whenever inspiration strikes!
And voilà! You now have adorable nails!
